The Believers Are Martyrs Even If They Die In Their Beds

32 - Chapter "The Believer is a Friend and a Martyr"

115 - From him, from his father, from Hamza bin Abdullah al-Ja'fari, from Jamil bin Darraj, from Amr bin Marwan, from al-Harith bin Husayra, from Zaid bin Arqam, from al-Husayn bin Ali, peace be upon him, who said: "There is none among our Shia but that he is a friend and a martyr." He said: "I said: May I be your ransom, how can that be when most of them die in their beds?" He replied: "Do you not recite the Book of Allah in the Surah of Iron 'And those who believe in Allah and His messengers, they are the truthful and the martyrs with their Lord.' (57:19) ?" He said: "I said: It is as if I have never read this verse from the Book of Allah, Mighty and Exalted." He said: "If the martyrs were only as you say, then the martyrs would be few."

116 - From him, from his father, from al-Nadr bin Suwayd, from Yahya bin Imran al-Halabi, from Ibn Muskan, from Abu Basir, from Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him, who said to me: "O Abu Muhammad, indeed the one who dies from you upon this matter is a martyr." I said: "Even if he dies on his bed?" He said: "Yes, by Allah, even if he dies on his bed, alive with his Lord, provided for."

117 - From him, from Abu Yusuf Ya'qub bin Yazid, from Muhammad bin Abi Umayr, from Amr bin Asim, from Minhal al-Qassab, who said: "I said to Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him: Pray to Allah for me for martyrdom." He said: "The believer is a martyr wherever he dies. Have you not heard the saying of Allah in His Book: 'And those who believe in Allah and His messengers, they are the truthful and the martyrs with their Lord.'?"

118 - From him, from Ibrahim bin Ishaq, from Abdullah bin Hammad, from Aban bin Taghlib, who said: "When Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him, mentioned those who are killed in the frontiers, he said: 'Woe to them, what are they doing with this? They hasten to be killed in this world and killed in the Hereafter. By Allah, the martyrs are none other than our Shia, even if they die on their beds.'"

119 - From him, from Ibn Mahbub, from Amr bin Thabit Abu al-Miqdam, from Malik al-Juhani, who said: "Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him, said to me: 'O Malek, indeed the one who dies from you upon this matter is a martyr in the position of the one who strikes in the way of Allah.' And Abu Abdullah, peace be upon him, said: 'It does not harm a man from our Shia whatever death he dies, whether he is eaten by a beast, burned by fire, drowned, or killed, he is by Allah a martyr.'" 32 - باب " المؤمن صديق شهيد " 115 - عنه، عن أبيه، عن حمزة بن عبد الله الجعفري، عن جميل بن دراج، عن عمرو بن مروان، عن الحارث بن حصيرة، عن زيد بن أرقم، عن الحسين بن علي عليهما - السلام قال: ما من شيعتنا إلا صديق شهيد، قال: قلت: جعلت فداك أنى يكون ذلك و
عامتهم يموتون على فراشهم؟ - فقال: أما تتلو كتاب الله في الحديد " والذين آمنوا بالله ورسله أولئك هم الصديقون والشهداء عند ربهم. " قال: فقلت: كأني لم أقرأ هذه الآية من كتاب الله عز وجل قط، قال: لو كان الشهداء ليس إلا كما تقول لكان الشهداء قليلا (1).
116 - عنه، عن أبيه، عن النضر بن سويد، عن يحيى بن عمران الحلبي، عن ابن مسكان، عن أبي بصير، عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: قال لي: يا أبا محمد إن الميت منكم على هذا الامر شهيد، قلت: وإن مات على فراشه؟ - قال: أي والله، وان مات على فراشه، حي عند ربه يرزق (2).
117 - عنه، عن أبي يوسف يعقوب بن يزيد، عن محمد بن أبي عمير، عن عمرو بن عاصم، عن منهال القصاب، قال: قلت لأبي عبد الله عليه السلام: ادع الله لي بالشهادة، فقال:
المؤمن لشهيد حيث مات، أو ما سمعت قول الله في كتابه: " والذين آمنوا بالله ورسله أولئك هم الصديقون والشهداء عند ربهم " (3).
118 - عنه، عن إبراهيم بن إسحاق، عن عبد الله بن حماد، عن أبان بن تغلب قال:
كان أبو عبد الله عليه السلام إذا ذكر هؤلاء الذين يقتلون في الثغور يقول: ويلهم ما يصنعون بهذا؟ يتعجلون قتلة في الدنيا وقتلة في الآخرة، والله ما الشهداء الا شيعتنا و إن ماتوا على فراشهم (4).
119 - عنه، عن ابن محبوب، عن عمرو بن ثابت أبي المقدام، عن مالك الجهني، قال: قال لي أبو عبد الله عليه السلام: يا مالك إن الميت منكم على هذا الامر شهيد بمنزلة الضارب في سبيل الله. وقال أبو عبد الله عليه السلام: ما يضر رجلا من شيعتنا أية ميتة مات، أكله السبع، أو أحرق بالنار، أو غرق، أو قتل، هو والله شهيد (5).
