(30367) 5 - With his chain of narrators from al-Husayn ibn Sa'id, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from Mu'awiyah ibn Wahb, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Hamzah, from Zakariyya ibn Ibrahim, who said: I entered upon Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him) and said: "I am a man from the People of the Book and I have accepted Islam, but all my family remains Christian, and I live with them in the same house. Should I eat from their food?" He asked me: "Do they eat pork?" I replied: "No, but they drink alcohol." He said to me: "Eat with them and drink." [Wasa'il al-Shi'ah, Volume 24, Page 211]
(30367) 5 - وباسناده عن الحسين بن سعيد عن القاسم بن محمد عن معاوية بن وهب عن عبد الرحمن بن حمزة عن زكريا بن إبراهيم قال: دخلت على أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) فقلت: انى رجل من أهل الكتاب وانى أسلمت وبقى أهلي كلهم على النصرانية وانا معهم في بيت واحد لم أفارقهم بعد فآكل من طعامهم؟ فقال لي: يأكلون (1) الخنزير؟ فقلت: لا ولكنهم يشربون الخمر فقال لي: كل معهم واشرب.
(30310) 1 - Muhammad ibn Ya'qub, from Muhammad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr, from Isma'il ibn Shu'ayb, from Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him), regarding a man who entered a village and found some meat but did not know whether it was slaughtered properly or was carrion. He said: "Throw it on the fire, and whatever contracts is properly slaughtered, and whatever expands is carrion." [Wasa'il al-Shi'ah, Volume 24, Page 188]
(30310) 1 - محمد بن يعقوب عن محمد بن يحيى عن أحمد بن محمد عن أحمد بن محمد بن أبي نصر (عن إسماعيل بن شعيب) (1) عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) في رجل دخل قرية فأصاب بها لحما لم يدر أذكى هو أم ميت؟ فقال فاطرحه (2) على النار فكل ما انقبض فهو ذكى وكل ما انبسط فهو ميت.
(24970) 1 - Muhammad ibn al-Hasan, with his chain of narrators from al-Hasan ibn Mahbub, from 'Ali ibn Ri'ab, from al-Halabi, from Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him), who said: "Three things are not accounted for against a believer: the food he eats, the clothes he wears, and a righteous wife who helps him and with whom he protects his chastity." (24970) 1 - محمد بن الحسن بإسناده عن الحسن بن محبوب، عن علي بن رئاب عن الحلبي، عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: ثلاثة أشياء لا يحاسب عليهن المؤمن: طعام يأكله، وثوب يلبسه، وزوجة صالحة تعاونه ويحصن بها فرجه.
(321) 23 - From him, from Muhammad ibn Abi 'Umayr, from Jamil and Muhammad ibn Humran, who both asked Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him) about the slaughter of Jews, Christians, and Magians. He replied: "Eat." Some said: "They do not mention the name (of Allah)." He said: "If you are present and they do not mention the name, then do not eat. If you are absent, then eat."
(322) 24 - From him, from Safwan, from Ibn Muskan, from Muhammad al-Halabi, who said: I asked Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him) about the slaughter of the People of the Book and their women. He replied: "There is no harm in it."
(323) 25 - From him, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from Jamil ibn Salih, from 'Abd al-Malik ibn 'Amr, who said: I asked Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him): "What do you say about the slaughter of Christians?" He replied: "There is no harm in it." I said: "They mention Christ over it." He said: "They mean by Christ, Allah."
(324) 26 - From him, from al-Hasan, from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, from Ali, from Abu Basir, who said: I asked Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him) about the slaughter of a Jew. He replied: "It is lawful." I said: "What if he mentions Christ?" He said: "Even if he mentions Christ, for he means by it, Allah."
(328) 30 - Al-Saffar, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Al-Barqi, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad, from Yunus ibn Bahman, who said: I asked Abu al-Hasan (peace be upon him): "A Christian relative gifted me roasted chickens and chicks and prepared faludhaj (a sweet dish) for me. Should I eat it?" He said: "There is no harm in it."
(329) 31 - Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn 'Isa from Sa'd ibn Isma'il from his father Isma'il ibn 'Isa, who said: I asked al-Rida (peace be upon him) about the slaughter of Jews and Christians and their food. He replied: Yes.
(330) 32 - From Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Ahmad ibn Abi Hamzah al-Qummi, from Zakariyya ibn Adam, who said: Abu al-Hasan (peace be upon him) said to me: "I forbid you from the slaughter of anyone who is not of your faith and that of your companions except in a time of necessity."
(331) 33 - From Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Yahya, from Sahl ibn Ziyad, from Ahmad ibn Bashir, from Ibn Abi Ghufaylah al-Hasan ibn Ayyub, from Dawud ibn Kathir al-Riqqi, from Bashir ibn Abi Ghaylan al-Shaybani, who said: I asked Abu 'Abdullah (peace be upon him) about the slaughter of Jews, Christians, and Nawasib. He turned his mouth (in disgust) and said: "Eat it for now." [al-Istibsar, Volume 4, Page 102-105]
(321) 23 - عنه عن محمد بن أبي عمير عن جميل ومحمد بن حمران انهما سألا أبا عبد الله عليه السلام عن ذبائح اليهود والنصارى والمجوس؟ فقال: كل، فقال بعضهم انهم لا يسمون فقال: فإن حضرتموهم فلم يسموا فلا تأكلوا وقال: إذا غاب فكل.
(322) 24 - عنه عن صفوان عن ابن مسكان عن محمد الحلبي قال: سألت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام عن ذبيحة أهل الكتاب ونسائهم؟ فقال: لا بأس به.
(323) 25 - عنه عن القاسم بن محمد عن جميل بن صالح عن عبد الملك بن عمرو قال:
قلت لأبي عبد الله عليه السلام ما تقول في ذبائح النصارى؟ فقال: لا بأس بها قلت:
فإنهم يذكرون عليها المسيح؟ فقال: إنما أرادوا بالمسيح الله.
(324) 26 - عنه عن الحسن عن القاسم بن محمد عن علي عن أبي بصير قال: سألت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام عن ذبيحة اليهودي؟ فقال: حلال قلت: فإن سمى المسيح؟
قال: وإن سمى فإنه إنما أراد به الله.
(328) 30 - الصفار عن أحمد بن محمد عن البرقي عن أحمد بن محمد عن يونس بن بهمن قال: قلت لأبي الحسن عليه السلام: اهدى إلي قرابة لي نصراني دجاجا وفراخا قد شواها وعمل لي فالوذجة (1) فآكله؟ قال: لا بأس به.
(329) 31 - أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى عن سعد بن إسماعيل عن أبيه إسماعيل بن عيسى قال:
سألت الرضا عليه السلام عن ذبائح اليهود والنصارى وطعامهم؟ قال: نعم.
(330) 32 - ما رواه محمد بن أحمد بن يحيى عن أحمد بن أبي حمزة القمي عن زكريا بن آدم قال قال لي أبو الحسن عليه السلام: إني أنهاك عن ذبيحة كل من كان على خلاف الذي أنت عليه وأصحابك إلا في وقت الضرورة إليه.
(331) 33 - ما رواه محمد بن أحمد بن يحيى عن سهل بن زياد عن أحمد بن بشير عن ابن أبي غفيلة الحسن بن أيوب عن داود بن كثير الرقي عن بشير بن أبي غيلان الشيباني قال: سألت أبا عبد الله عليه السلام عن ذبائح اليهود والنصارى والنصاب قال فلوى شدقه (1) وقال: كلها إلى يوم ما.
