25 - Thawāb al-Aʿmāl: From Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad ibn Masrūr, from al-Ḥusayn ibn Muḥammad ibn ʿĀmir, from his uncle ʿAbd Allāh, from Ibn Abī ʿUmayr, from Ḥafṣ ibn al-Bukhturī, from Abū ʿAbd Allāh (peace be upon him), who said: A woman was punished for a cat she tied up until it died of thirst.
25 - ثواب الأعمال: عن جعفر بن محمد بن مسرور عن الحسين بن محمد بن عامر عن عمه عبد الله عن ابن أبي عمير عن حفص بن البختري عن أبي عبد الله عليه السلام قال: إن امرأة عذبت في هرة ربطتها حتى ماتت عطشا (4).
29 – al-Makārim (from Kitāb al-Maḥāsin), from al-Ṣādiq (peace be upon him), who said:
"The filthiest of sins are three: killing an animal [without right], withholding a woman’s dowry, and denying a worker his wages."
29 - المكارم: من كتاب المحاسن عن الصادق عليه السلام قال: أقذر الذنوب ثلاثة:
قتل البهيمة وحبس مهر المرأة، ومنع الأجير أجره (3).
30 - Nawādir al-Rāwandī: With his chain of transmission from Mūsā ibn Jaʿfar from his forefathers (peace be upon them), he said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) passed by a group who had tied up a live chicken and were shooting arrows at it. He said: "Who are these people? May Allah curse them."
And with this same chain, he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family) said:
"I saw in the Fire the owner of a cat being eaten by it from front and back. She had tied it up, did not feed it, and did not let it go to eat from the insects of the earth."
30 - نوادر الراوندي: باسناده عن موسى بن جعفر عن آبائه عليهم السلام قال: مر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم على قوم نصبوا دجاجة حية وهم يرمونها بالنبل، فقال: من هؤلاء لعنهم الله (5).
وبهذا الاسناد قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله: رأيت في النار صاحب الهرة تنهشها مقبلة ومدبرة، كانت أوثقتها ولم تكن تطعمها ولا ترسلها تأكل من خشاشة الأرض (6).
